The Humanities Department of NCSSM is an inclusive learning community spanning World Languages, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Ethnic and Cultural Studies, American Studies, Literary Studies, and History. Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging environment that encourages curiosity grounded in critical thinking, ethics, self-reflection, creativity, and empathy. 

1. Students are active participants in their learning and creative process.

2. Through scholarship and expression, we engage with each other, our fields of inquiry, and the wider world to better understand diverse lives, histories, and cultures.
